WONDER ASSOCIATES APPOINTED

WONDER ASSOCIATES APPOINTED

Following a competitive recruitment process, Torbay Culture Board has selected Wonder Associates to provide audience development and marketing support over a 2 ½ year period as part of the Great Place Scheme, which will see a £1.6million investment in local cultural life with the aim to increase residents’ engagement in culture and attract a new breed of cultural tourists.

With a studio at the heart of Torquay, a network of artists, makers, writers, content producers and influencers across South Devon and 12 years proven experience of promoting culture, Wonder Associates are ideally placed to meet the demands of this project, which includes the start-up of a new online culture magazine, audience research and campaign work. Wonder will also set up a new ‘culture panel’ of current and potential arts and heritage attenders.

This appointment is a great step forward in Torbay Culture Board’s efforts to grow and widen audiences for arts and heritage and put Torbay on the map as a great cultural centre, brilliantly communicated.  We are lucky to have such skilled and experienced cultural communications specialists right here in the Bay.
— Kate Farmery, Executive Director of Torbay Culture Board
“Culture is a powerful place-maker. It has a transformational ability, making places happier to live and more attractive to visit. Wonder is thrilled to have the opportunity to expose the hidden creativity, and spotlight the new events, trails and artworks across Torbay. We look forward to inspiring both local people and cultural tourists through a more curated cultural offer.”
— Lisa Gardiner, Managing Partner, Wonder Associates

Wonder Associates have worked with over 50 cultural brands across the UK from Edinburgh to Manchester, London to Exeter and Torbay. Their imaginative work with artists, museums, galleries, cinemas, theatres, arts centres, attractions and festivals has inspired millions of people to engage with culture more often.
