“My first real experiences and adventures of the outdoors were in Torbay as a child growing up on the coastline. To this day Torbay's beautiful secluded coves and untouched landscape are places that creatively inspire me, whilst giving me much needed down time and reflection. Arts organisations operating in the area such as ROC Creative, Dance in Devon, Doorstep Arts, Play Torbay and Torbay Culture are to me the life blood of my work here and have provided me with unique opportunities to engage with and value my local community. As my choreography reaches worldwide audiences, this community and the bay's coastal environment are what I continue to associate with home and cherish for my choreographic practice.” Richard Chappell, Choreographer and Producer, Richard Chappell Dance
