Enterprising Approaches: A Torbay Culture Forum event in Parnership with RIO took place at Cockington Court in July 2017 to explore how organisations and individuals in Torbay can be supported to develop a more entrepreneurial approach to achieving their goals.

Great Place Scheme - Paignton Picture House

January 2017

The Great Place Scheme launch event took place at Paignton Picture House.

The Torbay Great Place Scheme, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Arts Council England, could include events, trails and artwork to celebrate the Bay’s role in the life of Dame Agatha Christie or as a internationally recognised Unesco Geopark, a Festival of Light, and new digital guides to all that’s on among other projects.

The £1.2million project will put Torbay’s culture and creativity centre stage for locals and visitors.

July 2016

Creative and Digital Industries took place at the University Centre, South Devon College in July 2016. Organised in partnership with South Devon College, the event explored how we can work together to support sectors such as design, hi-tech, digital and gaming, art, advertising, publishing, performance, film and T.V. in Torbay and beyond.

Culture, Health and Wellbeing: Creative Commissioning for Better Outcomes took place at the Riviera International Centre, Torquay in April 2016.

Organised in partnership with the National Council for Voluntary Organisations, the event explored how those responsible for public services can work with arts and cultural organisations to secure creative approaches and social models of care and support.

Organised in partnership with the Real Ideas Organisation (RIO), Torbay Youth Cultural Partnership and Play Torbay the event was a stimulating day of presentations, networking and discussion to explore creative and cultural learning in formal and informal settings.
