I’m a Research Development Manager at the University of Exeter, having worked in research development, knowledge exchange and impact for the last 11 years. My cultural interests include walking in the Bay, photography, museums, festivals, music, theatre, watching and playing sport and food. I want to see the beautiful place in which I have chosen to live fulfil its cultural potential, becoming a ‘go-to’ place beyond seasonality as well as a great, healthy, place to live and work.
I work in Torbay and nationally as a freelance theatre practitioner, producer, performer and creative associational community builder, developing participatory arts projects with young people and communities. A former senior youth worker, learning support and young people’s drama educator, I’m the founder and Creative Director of Juicy Theatre and Co-director of Doorstep Arts. I’m passionate about Torbay’s cultural offer and believe it should be real, relevant and meaningful for the people who live here.
I’m Director at Fruition Creation Services, a partner in Unit 7 Creative Workhub and Agency and a Torbay Business Forum Executive Board member. I’ve been active in the local arts and culture community and am passionate about all things connected to the sea, particularly open water swimming, surfing and fishing. My ambition for the Culture Board is to help Torbay become renowned for happy and healthy lifestyles, supported by its own rich, distinctive cultural identity and community.
As Head of Creative Arts and Media at South Devon College in Paignton, I have responsibility for Art, including Fashion and Photography, Music, Media and Drama. My main personal interests and experience are in Film, Art History and Theatre. I’m also interested in – and have experience of – Community Art based projects, especially involving children, and all aspects of Arts Education.
I’m a Director of Torquay-based Kay Elliott Architects with over 25 years experience in the field of architecture and masterplanning. Recent projects include the Abbey Sands development, Torquay Pavilion regeneration and the Par Eco Community Masterplan.
I’ve lived in Torbay all my life and managed my own businesses in the Bay from the age of 22. Now retired, I work with folk with learning disabilities as a volunteer advocate for Vocal Advocacy. I am the current President of Torbay Sports Council and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Riviera International Centre.

I’m a sixth form student, Junior Play Ranger and a Torbay Young Inspector. I came to Torbay from Bahia, Brazil when I was nine years old and since then have been involved with Play Torbay, gradually taking a more active role in developing cultural opportunities. As a result of my experiences with the arts, I’m interested in developing more opportunities for young people which help extend their horizons.
I’m Director of Play Torbay, Chair of the Bay’s Youth Cultural Partnership and work as a play and playwork policy consultant. I trained in art and design and achieved a Member Award from Action for Children’s Arts. I’m committed to supporting chances for young people, especially those who may be disadvantaged or disabled and need additional help to access exciting, inspiring and engaging cultural opportunities in Torbay.
